Shirahama with Leash

On the weekend, Aleysha and I went to Shirahama. The plan was to go swimming at the beautiful white sandy beach (the sand is actually imported from the Gold Coast!). Well, it didn’t actually turn out as planned because there was a typhoon that hit Japan around the Shirahama area and the weather was terrible. It rained pretty much the entire time and it was pretty windy too. That didn’t stop us from doing all the sight-seeing and taking lots of photos though!

We went for a very long walk in the rain with our trusty umbrellas and saw the hole in the rock. It was pretty spectacular. We loved seeing that!

We then went on the bus and were headed for the famous cliff that sadly, is popular for suicides. I really wanted to go and see it though, because it looks amazing with all the waves crashing against the rocks – especially on such a windy rainy day when the sea was going crazy! So we caught the bus and we were on it for a while and realised that we missed our stop. We went and told the bus driver that we had missed our stop and he let us off and told us we had to walk to the cliff. It was pouring with rain at that stage and when we got off the bus, it looked like we were in the middle of nowhere and we couldn’t help but laugh! So I took a picture of Aleysha standing by herself in the middle of nowhere in the rain. It was a funny moment!

We finally got to the cliff and got to see some amazing scenery of the water crashing against the rocks.

After checking into our traditional Japanese-style hotel, we were impressed with what we saw! We even got dinner served to us and it was MASSIVE! There was so much food (all traditional Japanese food) and our tummies were really full afterwards.
